Kilmore trainer, Alicia Macpherson, produced Onamissionfromgod for a good first-up win at Wangaratta’s Cup meeting on Sunday.
Having his first run since a close second at Ballarat last December, the two-year-old gelded son of God’s Own and Carbonated was a narrow but impressive winner of the $15,000 SV 2YO Maiden Plate (1170m).
Positioned just behind the leaders in the run, Onamissionfromgod looked to be struggling on the turn but under vigorous riding by Mark Pegus, the gelding responded going to the line in good fashion to win by a head over Dash For Magic with Rebel Ridge a further 2 1/4 lengths away, third.
Part-owned by the trainer’s sister, Emily, and their father, Clive, together with other stable clients, Onamissionfromgod was a $34,000 purchase at the 2009 Inglis Premier Yearling Sales.
