A return trip to Wangaratta with Emerenta brought dividends for her connections when the three-year-old filly scored a stylish win in the Winsec Savings & Loans Maiden Plate (1170m).

Emerenta ran a solid fifth when resuming over 1000 metres at Wangaratta on November 19 but the jump to 1170 metres also helped the daughter of Excellent Art’s cause.

Kilmore trainer Alicia Macpherson booked Jarrod Todd to ride Emerenta in the $15,000 event after Nathan Stanley was aboard for her first-up run.

Emerenta drew barrier two for her latest assignment, a draw Todd was keen to make full use of by pushing her forward to settle just off the speed after his mount began only fairly.

Emerenta travelled perfectly for Todd, who elected to save ground on the home turn, before she went around the early leader to join the frontrunners with 200 metres to run

The talented galloper sprinted quickly to hit the lead inside the 150 metres before Emerenta drew away from her opposition to record an easy 1-3/4 length win.

Congratulations to Emerenta’s owners – Ms A K Macpherson, D J Bishop, B D Callinan, F C Gravina, Mrs R L Johnstone, S T Callinan, T Koutsoupias, Mrs J L Koutsoupias & M Dullard.
