Kilmore trainer, Alicia Macpherson, produced Emerenta for an impressive win at Geelong Synthetic last Friday.  Luckless at her previous first-up run on the same track a month earlier, the Excellent Art four-year-old mare was an easy winner of the $30,000 Country Showcase F&M 0-64 Handicap.
Ridden by Mark Pegus, Emerenta led for most of the 1100-metre journey, kicking clear in the straight to defeat Mount Zero by 2 ½ lengths with Chilli Beach a further 1 ¼ lengths away third.
Emerenta was purchased at the Melbourne Yearling Sale by Macpherson for herself and stable clients.
“It was a nice win,” Macpherson said.
“We’ll probably look for a restricted fillies and mares race in the city for her next,” she said.
Emerenta has now had eight starts for two wins and three minor placings collecting just shy of $38,000.
